A cultural artifact where preservation is stressed more than experimentation, is truly dead.
If technique is expounded in blind pedagogy, and innovation punished as illiteracy, then truly a culture is in its final decline. It has entered on its way to the cultural museum, to join the ranks with countless other relics such as Latin, Opera, Ancient Greek, et cetera and so forth. All the veneration and valor these virtues erect in our flaccid souls will nevertheless be impotent to bring themselves back to life. Forever are they entombed and wrapped in layers of meaning of the dead world from whence they were laid down. Roadsigns in the cultural graveyard.
Rest in Piece.
